How to install Magic Lantern step by step + VIDEO
And first I totally need to say:
Software can damage or destroy your camera
Never delete the Magic Lantern files from the card. Format the card instead
To take a card from a camera, open a card door and only after 5 seconds or LED confirmation you can extract it (It is very important! Do it every time!)
Well, If you are here then do this steps:
- 1. Charge your battery to full, remote all assessoties from your camera
- 2. Go to Menu and check the version of Canon firmware or firmware of your system, in my 5D Mark II it is 2.1.2
- 3. It is recommended to restore to default settings – to do it choose Clear settings in Menu.
- 4. Format the card in your camera – (low level format) in Menu
- 5. Choose Manual mode on your camera
PC
- 6. Go to http://builds.magiclantern.fm/ and check that version of firmware on your camera matches to a version of Magic Lantern
- In my camera I have version Canon firmware 2.1.2 , and Magic Lantern 5D Mark II 2.1.2 is up for me.
If your firmware is correct, skip this step and follow the next.- * But In case your firmware is higher or lower, please update it for a version you need to install ML. You can type, for example, Canon 5D Mark II firmware into Google, and find it on official site or follow a link

- 12. So, there is User guide in some versions of ML in a camera. To read it you should press DELETE bottom on your camera. But my version doesn’t have it. The only consolation is that ML works great and it is not hard to work with.
